With Adventure the motorcycling flavour of the month, Suzuki’s V-Strom has come in for a major rework. Can it seriously compete in the crowded dual sport category? INFO MOTO investigates.
Suzuki Motorcycles Australia’s new V-Strom 1050 adventure bike range is set to hit local dealerships from August 13, 2020.
The new-generation V-Strom will launch in two variants, with the entry-spec bike priced from $17,990 rideaway, while the top-spec 1050XT (as tested) will be available from $20,990 rideaway.
Three colours will be available for the XT, including Pearl Briliant White/Glass Blaze Orange, Champion Yellow and Glass Sparkle Black, however, the base 1050 will be exclusively offered in Glass Sparkle Black.
The V-Strom carries over its 1037cc 90-degree twin, however, the engine has been tuned up to meet Euro5 emissions standards and produce an extra 5kW, to a total output of 79kW.
