We take the all-new BMW R 12 G/S Enduro for a quick fang at Queensland Moto Park with iconic custom bike builders Engineered To Slide, Deus and Ellaspeede in tow.

The BMW R 12 G/S is the fourth member to join this air/old-cooled boxer platform, following the R 12 cruiser, R 12 nineT roadster and R 12 S cafe racer (read R 12 S review).

In Australia, the R 12 G/S is priced from $23,990 rideaway, however, opting for the Enduro variant (as seen in the below video) brings the pricetag up to $27,990.

Notably, this Enduro package ads key off-road upgrades including a 21-inch front wheel (compared to 19-inch on standard variant) as well as knobby off-road tyres, a large engine guard, silver handlebar risers, black hand guards and a longer side stand. The Enduro also gains a small digital dash (compared to round analogue type), tyre pressure monitoring, upgraded rider modes (including Enduro Pro mode), among many smaller changes.

In either case, the R 12 G/S is motivated by a 1170cc boxer turned to produce 80kW and 115Nm.

Below, we get our first taste of the R 12 G/S at Queensland Moto Park before we take the bike for a more thorough test in the coming months.
