Ducati has expanded the Hypermotard 698 Mono range with the addition of the new Nera variant, priced from $24,825 rideaway in Australia, with European deliveries beginning in June 2026. Australian timing is yet to be confirmed.
The Nera sits between the standard 698 Mono at $24,125 rideaway and the RVE at $25,425, completing the single-cylinder Hypermotard family with a third option focused on a darker aesthetic and a slightly more complete standard specification.

The Nera’s most obvious point of difference is its total black livery, offset by Ducati Red wheels and frame. Homologated Termignoni steel silencers are fitted as standard, finished in black with red detailing to match the livery. An up/down quickshifter also comes standard on the Nera, an item that is an accessory add-on on the base model.
Mechanically, the Nera carries the same 659cc Superquadro Mono engine as the rest of the 698 Mono lineup. The unit produces 57kW, with the architecture derived from the twin-cylinder 1299 Panigale.

At 151kg ready to ride without fuel, the 698 Mono remains among the lightest bikes in the segment. The chassis uses a trellis frame with variable sections and thicknesses, a double-sided swingarm operating through a progressive linkage, and a fully adjustable rear shock absorber.
The electronics package is unchanged from the broader 698 Mono range and includes Cornering ABS with Slide-by-brake, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Power Launch.

The Cornering ABS system includes dedicated settings for sideways riding on track through the Slide-by-brake function. Wheelie Control includes a track-focused mode that allows controlled front-wheel lift in its lowest setting.
Fitting the optional racing Termignoni exhaust, which is a track-only item adding seven horsepower (5.2kW), activates an additional Wheelie Assist function.
The full range of Ducati Performance accessories is available for the Nera, including billet-machined components, aluminium license plate holder, racing seats and footpegs.
