Triumph Motorcycles has released its new 2024 Tiger 1200 to Australian showrooms, with pricing kicking off from $30,790 rideaway.

The range consists of four variants, with naming designations unchanged from the Tiger 1200 models released in 2022. Interestingly, Triumph has sold more than 14,000 units of that model globally.

In line with the outgoing variants, the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer have a focus on road-going operation, while the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and Rally Explorer are aimed at the more dirt-focussed purchaser.

Pricing sees the Tiger 1200 GT Pro at $30,790 rideaway (increase of $300), the Tiger 1200 GT Explorer $33,390 (increase of $400), the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro is $32,490 (increase of $300) and the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer priced at $34,690 (increase of $300). All prices quoted are rideaway.

The 1160cc triple engine, which delivers 110kW and 130Nm, has been redesigned, with Triumph claiming enhanced low speed control. This has been achieved via changes to the crankshaft, alternator rotor and balancer to increase engine inertia, plus some associated engine calibration changes.

Dampened handlebars and risers, previously only available on the Explorer models, have also been introduced to the GT Pro and Rally Pro. Shaft drive delivers the power to the road and all bikes get a redesigned seat for both rider and pillion.

The Explorers get at standard Blind Spot Radar and a 30-litre fuel capacity with 20-litres for the Pro variants, while all variants come with Showa semi-active suspension and active preload height reduction, along with the brand’s 7-inch TFT screen, up to six riding modes, keyless operational system and up-down quick shifter.

The Rally Pro and Rally Explorer) get 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels with tubeless tyres and the GT variants feature 19-inch front and 18-inch rear cast aluminium wheels and tubeless tyres.

Heated seats and grips come at standard on the Explorers along with a tyre pressure monitoring setup and all bikes get hill hold. Weight numbers remain unchanged at 245kg.

Cornering ground clearance of the Tiger 1200 GT Pro and GT Explorer models is increased and the new Active Preload Reduction lowers rear suspension preload as the Tiger 1200 slows to a stop, lowering the seat height by up to 20mm.

There is a dedicated range of more than 50 accessories, with an all-new Givi designed hard luggage setup among the more notable and heated seat options and a Sena Bluetooth system.
