The Aprilia Tuono 457 shares its technical DNA with the brand’s RS 457 sportsbike, but with a naked stance and more upright seating position. The same twin spar aluminium frame also carries over from its faired sibling.
Power and torque figures are the same as those of the RS, the Euro5+ 457cc parallel twin good for 35kW at 9400rpm and torque of 43.5Nm at 6700rpm, 82 per cent of which is available at 3000rpm.
Final drive ratio is lowered with an aim to improved acceleration with the result a small reduction in top speed.
Suspension consists of preload adjustable inverted 41mm forks, while at the rear is a preload adjustable monoshock.
Braking is handled by a single four-piston radial ByBre caliper and 320mm front disc, while the rear features a 220mm disc with a single-piston caliper , again, similar to the RS457.
Weight is 159kg dry and there’s 800mm of seat height.
At time of writing, pricing and release dates are yet to be confirmed.
INFO MOTO previously indicated that it expected Aprilia to also release an adventure bike model built on this platform at this year’s EICMA motorcycle show, however, this appears to have not eventuated.
