A video promoting the upcoming ‘Apex’ electric sportsbike proves little.
The personal mobility provider known as Segway, which provides transport for the likes of postal workers, security guards and cashed-up nerds, recently joined forces with Chinese manufacturer Ninebot to develop electric motorcycles.
With the help of Ninebot, Segway plans to release mopeds and scooters, as well as a high-performance sportsbike called the Apex.
Segway released a short promotional video showing the Apex in action on a circuit, complete with Batman-esque timpani hits, fast cuts and a narrow aspect ratio.
But take away the theatrics, and the bike appears slow and unwieldy – miles behind other models in the electric bike segment.
To be fair, the bike used is just a prototype, with the real thing set to debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week.
What do you reckon?
