For the first time, the KTM 390 Adventure will be available with wire-spoked wheels thanks to a new variant set to hit Australian showrooms in May.

KTM has yet to reveal pricing for the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure range, which is now available in two versions distinguished by graphics and the choice of conventional cast wheels or the new wire-spoked wheel option. INFO MOTO has contacted KTM Australia for more information and will update this story accordingly.

In the case of both variants, the KTM 390 Adventure’s wheels measure 19- and 17-inches front-to-rear and are shod in beefy Continental TKC70 dual-sport tyres.

The bike carries over its 373cc single-cylinder engine that generates 32kW and 37Nm, which was updated in 2022 for a 5Nm boost compared to earlier models.

It also retains its strong-for-segment electronics suite with an OFFROAD rider mode that allows for more rear-wheel slip.

Tipping the scales at 172 kilograms (wet), the 390 Adventure boasts a best-in-class power-to-weight ratio and comes standard with a TFT dash, LED lighting and smartphone connectivity.

The bike also benefits from lean-angle sensitive traction control, off-road ABS and cornering ABS.

WP Apex suspension offers 170mm of travel at the front and 177mm at the rear, while braking is managed by Brembo subsidiary Bybre, with a 320mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear.

Other standard bits include adjustable handlebars and windshield and a 14.5L fuel tank.

The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure rivals the likes of the BMW G 310 GS ($9599 rideaway) and Suzuki V-Strom 250SX ($6490) in the learner-approved adventure bike segment.
