Ducati has revealed its new-generation Panigale V4 ahead of its Australian debut in November, with the lighter-and-faster superbike range set to check in from $38,800 rideaway in standard trim, or $49,300 for the higher-spec V4 S.

The new Panigale V4 promises to be faster on track, and yet ‘less tiring for riders of all levels’ thanks to significant upgrades across the platform.

Many of these changes have contributed to a new power-to-weight ratio of 1:15 (hp/kg), with the bike tipping the scales at 187 kilograms – down two kilograms compared to the outgoing model – and generating 0.5hp more peak power.

The bike’s 1103cc V4 engine has been upgraded with components from the Panigale V4 R and Superleggera V4, bringing outputs to 161kW (216hp) and 120Nm. Peak power rises to 170kW (228hp), however, when the track-only Akrapovic exhaust system is fitted.

A most significant change to the Panigale V4 platform is the move to a double-sided swingarm, replacing the single-sided setup of previous generations. This change was made due to the new slick tyres used in Superbike racing which require increased stiffness for the frame and swingarm.

Also significant is the inclusion of Brembo HypureTM front brake calipers which are much lighter and are said to be higher performing. This is the first motorcycle in the world to feature these calipers.

A new fairing reduces aerodynamic resistance by up to four per cent, and is said to protect the rider more effectively in a straight line. Ducati describes this as a ‘bubble of clean air’.

Meanwhile, changes to the ergonomics and seating arrangement have been designed to reduce fatigue to the rider.

“The rider finds it easier to anchor himself with his knees to counteract the deceleration and to lean out of the saddle once the motorbike is cornering, thus reducing strain on the arms and therefore general fatigue,” reads a Ducati press release.

A sophisticated new technology suite sees a 6.9-inch TFT dash, complete with an upgraded Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO) system. As standard, five default rider modes are titled Race A, Race B, Sport, Road and Wet.

The 2024 Ducati Panigale V4 comes standard in Ducati Red with Urban Grey frame and black rims. The bike is offered in single-seat configuration, with a passenger kit available as an optional accessory.
